Zerk Fittings and What To Do With Them.
If you have a Zerk fitting (grease fitting) in the center of your axle, it must be removed prior to the Air-Tight Cap being attached, due to the clearance necessary to fully engage the cap threads.
The zerk fitting will either unscrew or the pressed in type will have to be tapped out using a chisel , tapping on both sides untill it is removed. The zerk fitting will be used again on the next grease change in a year or two.
